Australian-Shepherd.1

Australian Shepherd

The Australian Shepherd, a lean, tough ranch dog, is one of those ‘only in America’ stories: a European breed perfected in California by way of Australia. Fixtures on the rodeo circuit, they are closely associated with the cowboy life. The Australian Shepherd, the cowboy’s herding dog of choice, is a medium-sized worker with a keen, penetrating gaze in the eye.

Cavapoo

For loving companionship, few breeds compare to the smart, cuddlesome, and playful Cavapoo. This crossbreed might also be a good choice as a low-allergen pet. What's a Cavapoo? She's the popular, heart-melting designer crossbreed offspring of a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and a miniature or toy poodle.

Cavadoodle

Their beautiful, boldly patterned coat comes in combinations of white and vivid orange and liver (reddish-brown). They are rugged and strong but smooth, clean, and quick afoot. The face has the ‘softness’ prized by bird-dog lovers; high-set ears convey the breed’s essential eagerness. The zeal and versatility that make Brittanys peerless hunters can be channeled into dog sports.

cockapoo-dog-breed

Cockapoo

An adorable, small dog with the personality of a big clown, the Cockapoo is perhaps the first of the “designer dogs” (not a purebred dog breed), dating back to the 1960s, rather than to just a few years ago. Despite their unfortunate status as a designer breed, you can find these hybrid dogs in shelters and rescues, so opt to adopt if you’re able!

Bernedoodle puppies are adorable, curious and behave surprisingly similar to a toddler – they need near constant attention and crave your love and affection nearly as much as they crave food.

Goldendoodle

The Goldendoodle breed is a newcomer to the ever-growing list of dog breeds. The breed first appeared in the late 1990s when breeders attempted to breed a larger alternative to small fashionable dogs, like the Cockapoo. Since then, the Goldendoodle has grown in popularity and become one of the most recognizable dog breeds in the world. The Goldendoodle is referred to as a designer dog, a crossbreed between two purebreds.

mypoodle

Poodle

The Teacup Poodle is the smaller variation of the Poodle breed. He is the offspring of two Toy Poodles. Because of the breed’s small size, he was nicknamed Tiny, Micro, and Micro-Mini Poodle. The Teacup Poodle is mainly bred as a loving canine companion. He gets along well with people and other pets. His high intelligence makes him easy to train. But strong leadership is required as he can be domineering.

Sherpherdoodle

The Sheepadoodle is a mixed breed dog — a cross between the Old English Sheepdog and Poodle dog breeds. Smart, playful, and loving, these pups inherited some of the best traits from both of their parents. Sheepadoodles go by many names, including Sheep-a-poo, Sheeppoo, Sheepdoodle, and Sheepdogpoo. Despite their status as a designer breed, you may find these mixed breed dogs in shelters and rescues, so remember to adopt! Don’t shop!

Labradoodle

It’s not surprising that the Labradoodle has gained such popularity so quickly. Originally developed to be hypoallergenic guide dogs, the first planned crosses of Poodles and Labrador Retrievers were arranged by the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia. The result was a smart and sociable dog who not only possessed a nature appropriate for guide dogs but also had a low-shedding coat. While the hybrid is not yet achieving consistent results in coat or temperament, they’re wildly popular and affectionate dogs.

A gentle and fearless dog breed, the Maltese greets everyone as a friend. Their glamorous white coat gives them a look of haughty nobility, but looks can be deceiving. Even though these are purebred dogs, you may find them in the care of shelters or rescue groups. Remember to adopt! Don’t shop if you want to bring a dog home.

Although these dogs sometimes have the unfortunate status of “designer breed,” you may find them in shelters and rescues. Remember to adopt! Don’t shop if you want to bring a dog home.
